You can come by the front desk or go to My Membership and make your changes online.
No. We have courses designed to teach you the basics of climbing and belaying. If you are not interested in a course, we can schedule a private lesson. OR, you can boulder (climbing without ropes) or climb on our Trublue auto-belay systems, a great way to try out climbing and just have fun. Trublue auto-belay climbing is our most affordable option for those looking to try climbing or have fun.
You should climb in comfortable loose-fitting clothing. You can rent all of the necessary equipment for climbing at the BRC, or you can bring your own. We have energy snacks and drinks available for purchase.
Yes, But they must fill out a waiver and take a belay test if they are going to belay you. Members are allowed to bring 2 guests for free each month. Guests can only come 1 time per month on Guest Passes.
Every book on the topic will tell you, climbing has inherent dangers; it is an adventure sport. If you are well trained and are using the correct equipment and techniques, your safety level is dramatically increased. At the Boulder Rock Club, safety is our number one concern. If you have questions or concerns about your safety, we will be happy to talk to you and answer any questions.
In order to belay or lead climb at the Boulder Rock Club, members and guests must pass the appropriate belay or lead climb test.
All belayers must demonstrate:
- Proper use of climbing harness, UIAA certified belay device and belay technique
- Ability to properly tie into the correct parts of the harness with a traceable figure-eight knot
- Leaders must also demonstrate their ability to properly handle and control the rope while leading.
Lead climbers must also demonstrate:
Ability to solidly lead 5.8. All clips must be made quickly and properly from relatively solid stances.
Yes. If you purchase a day pass or are a member you can come and go as you please.
No, but The Colorado Mountain School, offers a variety of courses and custom guiding. They offer everything from half-day top-roping to international expeditions. Great folks, check them out.
Yes, but children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Please check out our Kid Policies before bringing the little ones.
We also offer an after-school program for all ages, and Team BRC is designed for experienced climbers. Kids can have their birthday parties at BRC where they can climb, celebrate, and enjoy their cake too. Finally, we also offer private instruction and belayers for hire. Browse our Youth Offerings.
Yes. We’ve created fun and relevant adventures for groups as diverse as IBM, CU Alpine Club, and the Boy Scouts. Let us provide your group with a custom climbing experience tailored to your needs. No previous experience is required, and we’ll provide all the necessary climbing gear. Reservations required for all groups of 6 or more. Check out our pre-planned Climbing Parties, or email Josh Hill to book an event.
