Kid Policies

The Boulder Rock Club is a climbing gym; safety is our number one concern. We appreciate your business and thank you in advance for following these policies.

First Timers (using auto belays)

  • Children under 12 years old must be under direct supervision by an adult at all times, within arm’s reach when the child is not climbing
  • A ratio of 3:1 (3 kids to 1 adults) must be kept at all times
  • No groups of children larger than 6 without a reservation (group rates available)
  • See our First Time page for more details

Belay Rules for Kids (11 and under)

  • Require adult supervision when climbing, using the auto belays or bouldering, even if he or she passes a belay test
  • Can top rope belay (must be accompanied by an adult that has passed their top rope belay test)
  • Can lead (with adult supervision if the adult has passed the BRC lead belay and lead climb tests) if he or she passes all belay tests from a manager

Additional Gym Rules for Minors
