Team BRC

Climb higher, climb stronger, climb together.

About our Youth Climbing Team

Team BRC’s mission is to encourage personal growth through the rich culture and community of rock climbing. A youth climbing team strives to nurture all of our athletes equally through education, communication, teamwork, and athleticism. We maintain an ethic that fosters community, stewardship, and mentorship, and are continually challenging our athletes to realize their potential within climbing as well as in their everyday lives.

Team BRC’s curriculum focuses on having fun while learning to overcome personal obstacles and fears. Our USAC Level 2 and SafeSport certified coaching staff specialize in developmental climbing education through elite-level physical and technical training. We are committed to the individual improvement of each team member, as well as to the strength of the team as a whole.

Junior Prep (Ages 8-12)

Junior Prep (formerly Micros) squad offers a supportive environment that fosters a natural progression of rock climbing skills more advanced than Climbing Club. Junior Prep athletes are focused and excited about climbing. With individualized instruction providing a fun, safe, and challenging atmosphere, they are ready to take their climbing to the next level. Athletes are required to have certification or knowledge of basic top rope belay and safety skills and a high level of focus before joining Team BRC.

Once an athlete turns 13 years old, they are now eligible to move from Junior Prep to Prep, even mid-season.  However, an athlete may choose to remain on Junior Prep until start of the summer season.
