BRC Anchor Program

Tied in through trust, equity, and opportunity.

Introducing Boulder Rock Club’s Anchor Program – Low Income Tiers (LIT) to help those with financial hurdles pursue the benefits and community that climbing provides at the BRC.

This is a limited capacity program, currently in a trial state, aimed at helping those that need it in our community (similar to a sliding scale membership).  Due to the limited capacity of this program, we hope that the available spots only go to those that it will truly impact the most.  To help ensure the integrity of the program is maintained, we require documentation as a means to validate an applicant’s eligibility.

We recognize that financial hardship can be a difficult subject to broach and we promise to handle any information given to us with the utmost care and discretion.

Is This Program For Me?

Is  the BRC Anchor Program

a good fit for you,

consider the following:

  • Would having a BRC membership (at the standard rate) price you out of your basic needs or present a significant financial burden?
  • What percentage of your income is disposable/used for fitness and entertainment?
  • Do you qualify for government assistance or are you already receiving some form of assistance?
  • Do you feel that climbing has a significant positive impact on your quality of life?
  • Are you already making sacrifices to your basic needs in order to climb and recreate?

Low Income Tiers (LIT) Options

The BRC Low Income Tiers comes in two pricing categories, and both receive all the benefits of a full priced membership. The pricing is based on our current Adult Monthly Auto option ($95.00), with the two options being:

  • $63.00 a month – This tier is designed for people struggling to make ends meet but still have some disposable income for a few key entertainment and fitness options.
  • $47.50 a month – This tier is designed for people who are selecting the BRC as one of their sole forms of entertainment and fitness.

You may select the option that best fits your financial needs in your application.  BRC maintains the discretion to suggest a different tier based on your needs that the applicant can accept or decline.  Eligibility for the program is determined by a number of factors, including: income, government assistance received, and a written statement.

How it Works:

Program Timing & Capacity

Introductory Trial Period

We are currently running a six month trial period for our Low Income Tiers options, starting on July 1st and ending on December 31st 2025.

Capacity

The program has a 20 participant capacity, based on a first come, first serve policy. Additional applicants will be added to a waiting list after all spaces have been filled.

Continuation

Once in the program, a participant will be audited every 6 months to remain in the program for an additional 6 months. A 1 month grace period will be given for resubmission before being removed from the program. A former participant is always welcome to reapply but are subject to the same sign-up requirements previously stated.

Expectations & Benefits

Membership Contracts
BRC LIT members are required to fill out the same contract as other members and commit to the same requirements stated in the contract (Pay 2 full months before freezing or cancelling & change requests submitted by the 25th).

Attendance

Participants must use the facility at least 4 times per-month. Failure to do so will result in being placed on a removal list for the next month, and if they fail to use the facility 4 times again for that month, they will be removed from the program or bumped up to regular pricing.

Payments

Participants are expected to be responsible for their membership dues. Failure to make payment will result in being removed from the program

Additional Benefits

In addition to standard membership benefits, BRC Low Income Tier members will also receive free rentals for the duration of their memberships and half off any of our classes!
