With over 200 climbing routes and boulder problems, Boulder Rock Club has the fastest turnover in the Front Range, with an entirely newly set gym less than ever 3 months…
Setting Routes For Everyone
Boulder Rock Club’s routesetting is accessible to all climbers. As Boulder’s original rock climbing facility, our routesetting staff constructs routes not only for the pioneers of Colorado’s outdoor route development, but for the first timers inspired to try climbing for the first time. With routes as easy as 5.4 and as difficult at 5.14, we provide fun, quality routesetting designed to train climbers for all goals and journeys.
How do I know when something is going to be reset?
Lead and Top Ropes are reset by the oldest dates. Routes are up for approximately 2 and a half months. Boulders in the Expansion are on a 4 week rotation and boulders in the Main Room (Inside and Outside Cave) are on a 6 week rotation.
When and Where do we set?
Lead And Top Rope:
- Mondays and Fridays – Main Room, 8am-11am (Room Closed at 9am), Expansion Boulder every 4 weeks (no room closure)
- Wednesdays – Expansion*, 8am-11am (Room Closed at 9am)
*On rare occasions, we will also set in the Expansion on Fridays in order to catch up on older routes. You can always call ahead to check!
Bouldering:
- Inside Cave – Thursdays every 6 weeks (area closure)
- Outside Cave – Thursdays every 6 weeks (2 weeks after Inside Cave reset, area closure)
- Expansion (aka Arena) Boulder – Fridays every 4 weeks (area closure)
Our Grading System
Grades can feel different for all climbers, whether it be because of style, hold types, or steepness.
For routes, we use the Yosemite Decimal System with plus (+) or minus (-) grades. For example, a 5.10- would be an easier 5.10, while a 5.10+ would be a more difficult 5.10.
For bouldering, we follow the same + and – formula, but with our own grading system:
- Novice – V0
- Intermediate – V1-V2
- Advanced – V3-V6
- Elite – V7 and up
