Youth Program COVID Procedures

The BRC is taking safety measures and following guidelines set forth by the Department of Public Health & Environment. Parents and climbers can expect the following procedures for all youth programming.

Before Your Child Arrives:

-Instructors (and all employees) are temperature checked and symptom screened upon arriving to work. They immediately wash their hands at the start of their shift and also throughout the day.
-BRC goes through an extensive cleaning process every night and front desk staff clean and disinfect common surfaces in the lobby throughout the day.
-All staff has been trained on all COVID prevention procedures as recommended by the Department of Public Health & Environment.

Check-in:
-Sick or symptomatic persons should not enter the facility.
-Everyone needs to wear a mask when entering and while inside our facility.
-Climbers check in at the front desk, wash hands and meet with their Instructors.

During Youth Programming:
-Everyone will wear a mask.
-Physical distancing will be maintained at all times possible, but the nature of climbing, belaying and safety checks will have climbers in closer proximity at times.
-Regular hand washing and sanitizer breaks will be facilitated by the instructors
-Water breaks will require social distancing and will be outside when weather allows.
-Climbers should come with their own water as the water fountain is not available. Water, drinks and food (snack/bars) will be available for purchase.
-“Breather” Breaks will be taken outside and social distancing will be maintained.
Sick or symptomatic children must be picked up and will not be allowed to return until they have met testing, exclusion and isolation requirements set forth by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.
