Climbing During COVID-19

BRC is open for Climbing

We are open, utilizing state and county health guidelines. This will be the ultimate climbing partnership as we work together to make sure we are doing the best we can to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Our wonderful members outnumber the staff many times over; we can’t do it without your help and cooperation. With a few guidelines, we believe everyone can have a great climbing experience and be safe. We ask that you take personal responsibility for your health and safety, follow our rules, and keep being the awesome members you are.

Please read through all information on this page prior to your visit to prepare yourself of all policies and health/safety info.

Occupancy

We will be using our BRC Occupancy Counter to manage capacity in the climbing areas.  This is available on our Home Page and the bottom of this page.  You can also use the RGPro Connect app.

If BRC is at capacity, please wait outside or in your car until there is space in the climbing area.

Members, Day Passes, Punch Passes and “Free First Timer Pass with a Member” are all accepted.

Due to capacity limitations, everyone in the climbing area must be a member, Day Pass or Punch Pass user. No unpaid spectators or guardians allowed.

Health and Safety

The following health and safety precautions must be adhered to:

  • Persons with any of the following symptoms are not allowed to enter the facility: fever, cough, chills, headache, sore throat, and new loss of taste or smell.
  • Persons who have had contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case in the last 14 days are not allowed to enter the facility.
  • We ask that everyone wear a face mask that covers both their nose and mouth upon entering the facility and keep it on until they exit the facility.
    • Face masks can be purchased for $1.00.
  • All participants should follow proper hand hygiene by washing their hands upon and throughout their visit. We will have hand sanitizer stations available throughout the facility.
  • We ask that you stay at least six feet away from others as much as possible, including on the climbing wall.
  • We have a Mask Free Zone (or love grotto) area outside for mask free breaks. You must maintain social distancing in the grotto.
  • You must be responsible for your own personal health. Just like the rest of the world, we can not keep viruses, bacteria, or even beta-sprayers out of the gym. Climb at your own risk.

What Can I Do To Help?

While in the gym:
See something, say something.  If you see something that doesn’t adhere to our health and safety standards, please let us know.  We will take care of it.

-Please make your time in the lobby as quick as possible.  Socialize outside or away from high traffic areas.  Make any membership changes or renewals online.  Have your check-in card or RGPro Connect app ready to check-in and check-out before you enter and leave.  Complete waivers online.

– Be a steward in your community.  Wear an effective mask that properly fits your face and keep it on at all times.  Mind the Gap and keep space between climbing parties in all areas of the gym.

We need to flatten the curve, now more than ever.  Let’s do this together.
