FAQ

Do I need to have prior climbing experience before I climb at the Boulder Rock Club?

No. We have courses designed to teach you the basics of climbing and belaying. If you are not interested in a course, we can schedule a private lesson. OR, you can boulder (climbing without ropes) or climb on our Trublue auto-belay systems, a great way to try out climbing and just have fun. Trublue auto-belay climbing is our most affordable option for those looking to try climbing or have fun.

What do I need to bring with me to climb?

You should climb in comfortable loose-fitting clothing. You can rent all of the necessary equipment for climbing at the BRC, or you can bring your own. We have energy snacks and drinks available for purchase.

Can I bring a friend to climb?

Yes, But they must fill out a waiver and take a belay test if they are going to belay you. Members are allowed to bring a guest for free anytime, as long as it is the guest’s first visit.

Is climbing safe?

Every book on the topic will tell you, climbing has inherent dangers; it is an adventure sport. If you are well trained and are using the correct equipment and techniques, your safety level is dramatically increased. At the Boulder Rock Club, safety is our number one concern. If you have questions or concerns about your safety, we will be happy to talk to you and answer any questions.

Safety guidelines:
